But not the name of this blog or what it’s really about.
I still want to think out loud (okay, not out loud – I don’t do podcasts) about magic but not necessarily through focusing on Jimmy Page’s music magic.
I want to share my thoughts about what I was always thinking about: the magic of creativity. Or the creativity that is the basis of magic.
Both, really.
Focusing on JP was useful, but I’m moving on.
Some things remain the same, though. It’s not about stage magic. I’m no magician who deals with illusion. The magic of illusion is delusion. It can be entertaining but it’s not creation, it’s about pretending creation is happening. Entertainment is not the focus here. Understanding creativity is.
René Descartes famously said cogito ergo sum, but that’s not quite right, is it? It’s more like creo ergo sum. I create, therefore I am. Thinking is only part of the magic, and that’s what happening here. Not there, even though I thought that’s where I would be from now on.
Also, maybe cats.
